Nollapo 18 FT Pool Cover Reel Set (In-Ground)
The non-VINGLI option — The one in-ground reel with a real base that isn't VINGLI: 4.0★ across 295, multi-section aluminium adjustable from 6 to 18 ft, at about $159.99 — the same money as the category leader. It matters mostly as proof the field has more than one seller in it, because the rating is the lowest of the three we card.
How to read a Showdown Score™
The only score that counts how often a product breaks, not just how owners feel about it.
- Three parts add up to the score: what owners rate it, how often it fails them, and whether a credentialed tester backed it.
- Bands: Exceptional 8.5 and up, Excellent 7.5, Very good 6.5, Good 5.5, Fair 4, Poor below 4. Every score is dated.
- Price, the warranty and what a link pays us stay out of it.

Cons
- The worst tail of the three at the SAME $159.99 as the category leader: one owner measures the sag at about six inches, another had it fail inside three months
- 295 ratings is a sixth of the leader's evidence
- Multi-section telescoping aluminium, so the category's sag-at-full-extension problem applies here too
The worst tail of the three in-ground reels, and it puts a number on the category's fault: "it sags about six inches in the middle. Very flimsy." A second owner confirms it — "seems to sag under the weight and it's hard to pull the cover off" — and a third scopes the product honestly: "a bit flimsy. Ideal for smaller covers. Less than 20 ft." One failure was outright: "failed in less than three months. The wheel that rolls up the pool cover — a key component". It is also light enough to be unstable: "the slightest wind tips it over", and one owner's "falls into my pool. It's brand new and the reel is already creaking." Hardware backs out — "plan on adding your own self tapping screws holding on the tubes as the originals fall out" — and the printed instructions are called the worst one owner has experienced.
