Three in-ground reels have an owner base worth quoting. Two of them are the same brand’s separate listings, and the third costs the same as the leader with a sixth of the evidence. That is the category, and it is worth knowing before you read a “top 10” that pads itself with listings carrying eleven ratings.
Finding 1: one brand owns this, and it runs several listings at once

Those are three different listings, and the different counts are how you know. When one listing’s score is pooled across sizes — which happens constantly on cover products and which we flag all over this site — every size reports the identical star and the identical count. These don’t. So VINGLI genuinely has several products with several records, and “the VINGLI reel” is not one thing.

Finding 2: every telescoping reel gives in the middle
This is the category’s universal fault, and one owner explained the mechanism better than any listing does. The reel is four inner and three outer aluminium tubes, each about 42 inches, staggered and slid apart to reach your width. The wider you set it, the less overlap is holding the centre up.

Not for you if: depth of evidence is what you are buying. You are trading 1,023 owner ratings for a tenth of a star, which is well inside the noise. Its tail is also mostly the manual — “the one issue with it, and it is a large one, are the assembly instructions” — on a unit that arrives in two boxes.
