Permanent Outdoor Lights matchup
Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 vs Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights Pro
Govee Lights 2 or Pro: the outdoor adapter against the cut-to-fit run
The judges have ruled
Govee Permanent Outdoor Lights 2 took this fight in our Catchweight division showdown.
Ringside notes
Two Govee kits, both read signed in on their own Amazon listings on 2026-10-30 with their ten newest critical reviews. Both carry the same three-year line on Govee's homepage, and both are sold by Govee's own Amazon store.
Your roofline decides this before anything else. The Pro can be cut and spliced, and runs to 200 ft with a driver module past 150. The Lights 2 cannot be cut and stops at 150 ft. If your house has corners and gaps, that settles it. For straight runs, the Lights 2 is about $280 for 100 ft against about $440 for the Pro, and packs 72 lights per 100 ft to the Pro's 60. The Pro adds warm and cool white LEDs for plain trim lighting.
Then look at your outlet. The Lights 2's adapter is rated IP65, so it can live outside. The Pro's adapter is for indoor use only, so it needs a dry spot.
Both hold 4.4★, the Lights 2 across 3,154 ratings and the Pro across 2,425, and the stars hide the gap. Seven of the Pro's ten newest critical reviews report failure within about a year, one of them within a day, and three name the adapter, the power box or the power supplies. Four of the Lights 2's ten report failure within about two years, and two say the box arrived without its control box. One Pro owner paid $1,200 to install; Govee replaced the lights, and the owner expected about $800 more to have them fitted, because labor is on the buyer.
WIRED names the Pro its Best Overall and TechHive calls the Lights 2 sturdy; neither is a durability result. Our showdown crowned the Lights 2 and made the Pro its cut-to-fit pick. This is not the newer Lights 2 Pro, which sits under our 50-rating floor.

The 100 ft set, hands-on; no duration stated. Null also writes that whether it lasts year after year is the big question.
